x-enVENT

x-enVENT is an English-language dataset created by the Institute for Natural Language Processing at the University of Stuttgart, containing 720 event description texts. It is designed to investigate emotions via appraisal theory in psychology. The texts in the dataset describe emotion-eliciting situations, and are annotated with the experiencers who may feel these emotions. Additionally, event attributes such as event undesirability and outcome uncertainty are annotated to link experiencers with the events they perceive as salient. This dataset supports research on emotions and event appraisal from the perspectives of different roles, and facilitates the development of experiencer-specific emotion and appraisal classification systems.
