Number of cases of unauthorized constructions in Italy 2018, by region

In 2018, most of the cases of unauthorized building in Italy were registered in Campania, in Southern Italy. More specifically, 1,169 violations were recorded in this region, accounting for 17.8 percent of all infringements nationwide. Moreover, the Southern Italian region of Calabria ranked second with 789 cases, whereas in Apulia, in the South as well, 730 cases of illegal building were reported in 2018.
