Effects of Heat Stress on the Ruminal Epithelial Barrier of Dairy Cows

HS might damage the barrier function of ruminal epithelial and induce tissue inflammation, which in turn participate in the perturbation of milk protein synthesis. To this end, 8 mid-lactation dairy cows were housed in 4 individual environmental chambers in batches for 25 d, the rumen papillae was sampled for micromorphological observation and RNA-sequence (RNA-seq) to evaluate the morphology and RNA expression of ruminal epithelial. Additionally, the rumen fluid and milk were sampled for the analysis of rumen fermentation and milk composition.
