VPRS 5498 Index to Companies And Miscellaneous Case Files

The index was used to facilitate retrieval of the files in VPRS 12024 in the Supreme Court. Entries in the index were made in alphabetical order as described above. The names of the applicants were not listed in the index, however they were in the register (VPRS 5373).Applications were made to the Supreme Court under a number of statutes including the Companies Act, the Wills and Probates Act, the Inebriates Act the Marriage Act, the Custody Act, the Local Government Act and the Trade Practices Act amongst others.A list of statutes under which applications to the Supreme Court were made is pasted inside the front cover of the volume.In 1936, a separate index was created for applications under the Companies Act, VPRS 5497. This series, VPRS 5498 continued to be used as the index for Miscellaneous applications.
