Interferon Mediated Bronchial Epithelium Cellular Senescence in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

Cellular senescence has been implicated in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) pathogenesis. We used single cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) to analyze gene expressions in bronchial epthelium, finding increased expression of cellular senescence signature in COPD samples. Overall design: Bronchial epithelial cells from COPD and healthy controls were cultured in an air-liquid interface (ALI) model, at 28 days ALI culture, cells were trypsinized and anylized using scRNA-Seq.
