Sample of respiratory secretion from a clinical case of glanders, confirmed by specific PCR targets directly from pleural drainage and microbial cultures derived from this sample. The patient, who presented with severe pneumonia, was hospitalized and received appropriate treatment, resulting in significant improvement and subsequent discharge from the hospital.
