Candida albicans is an opportunistic pathogen and the most prevalent fungal species of the human microbiota. The biofilm formation of C. albicans is an important virulence factor as it can increase tolerance to conventional antifungal drugs and the host immune system. The study aimed to clarify the mechanism of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) against biofilm formation and mature biofilms of C. albicans strains.
