DOST-PHIVOLCS Centroid Moment Tensor Catalog

The DOST-PHIVOLCS Centroid Moment Tensor (CMT) Catalog is a regional database of centroid moment tensor solutions for moderate to large earthquakes in the Philippines. These CMT solutions are resolved using SWIFT (Source parameter determination based on Waveform Inversion of Fourier Transformed seismograms), a method developed by Nakano et al. (2008) that performs frequency-domain waveform inversion to estimate earthquake source mechanisms and moment functions simultaneously. The method has been applied to data from the Philippine regional broadband seismic network, and was institutionalized and adopted at PHIVOLCS [Bonita et al. (2015); Punongbayan et al.
