Comparison of miRNA expression between primary tissue, patient-derived cancer model, and FFPE tissue

We investigated whether we could use RNA from tumor purified formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue for small RNA sequencing to obatin comparable results to RNA from the primary tumor. Therefore, we utilized four patient tumors and compared RNA from three different sources each: The primary tumor (or the metastasis), a patient-derived cancer model (PDCM), which was either a spheroid, organoid, or frozen viable, and the FFPE tissue from the routine pathology procedure.
