ROSALIA - Roman Sky Analyst for Low surface brightness Imaging & Astronomy

ROSALIA (Roman Sky Analyst for Low surface brightness Imaging & Astronomy) is a NASA pipeline to model the sky background level on astronomical images obtained with Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope. ROSALIA uses a series of stray-light sensitivity maps called Normalized Detector Irradiance, that provide the sensitivity to stray-light from a source outside the field of view for a telescope. The folder hosted in this repository provide ROSALIA with the necessary files to estimate the stray-light maps. To allow ROSALIA to find them, make sure that the path of the folder is saved as an environment variable called "ROSALIACACHE". Example, add the following line to your .zshrc or .bashrc. export ROSALIACACHE="/home/user/files/rosalia_cache/" ROSALIA combines the information from existing photometric catalogs (Gaia, 2MASS, WISE) with precise optical and payload ray-tracing models of the Roman Space Telescope, allowing to generate images of stray-light and other components of the sky-background for user-defined observational conditions.
