Artificial Intelligence Act

In April 2021, the European Commission presented a proposal to regulate artificial intelligence (AI), the “Artificial Intelligence Act". In the ongoing negotiation process, the scope of the regulation was expanded due to new development leaps in AI. For the automotive and supplier industry, AI is a key technology whose development and use requires a binding legal framework.
In its position paper, the VDA shows that significant improvements are necessary in the trilogue negotiations so that Europe remains a globally important AI innovation location for the automotive industry in the future.
