Full Raw Data Ecotype Project

The full raw data of the restored tallgrass prairie ecotype project at the Southern Illinois University Agricultural Research Center in Carbondale, IL.
Species composition was measured via averaging the %cover of each species between two 1 m2 quadrats per subplot. Aboveground biomass was collected from two 1 m2 quadrats per subplot and averaged. Root biomass was collected via root bags, one per subplot. Bulk soil was collected from each subplot, the soil was sieved, roots collected and removed, and then the soil was placed into root bags and replaced into the plots. At the end of the growing season, the root bags were collected. Five soil composite cores (0-10cm deep, 2cm diameter) were collected from each subplot to be analyzed for soil nutrients. Soil composite cores were collected from each subplot throughout the growing season in order to measure soil moisture over time.
