We conducted multi-proxy studies on a 14 m deep core (+7m a.m.s.l.) from the Cauvery Delta. Our study suggests evidence of a huge hiatus between 190-10 ka and 58-10 ka on account of role of relative sea level rise due to slumping/tectonic adjustments rather than lack of sediment deposition in this region. With the help of C, N, S isotopes, palynofacies investigations, and geochemical fingerprinting, we marked major alteration and relative changes from the past ~58 ka. The study is an important example for understanding coastal dynamics of tropical countries in particular and global sea level changes in response to climate.
