This series consists of compulsory competitive tendering documents compiled by the City of Kingston (VA 3697). Files in this series contain details of the tenders made for various City Council works and projects.Under the Local Government Act 1989 (Act No. 11/1989), councils were required to give public notice of the purpose of the contract and invite proposals to the council from those seeking to undertake the contract. Three exceptions were provided in the Act - contracts entered into because of an emergency, contracts with public bodies, and contracts for professional services.
