Ganoderic acids (GAs), a group of highly oxygenated lanostane-type triterpenoids obtained from the Ganoderma lucidum (Reishi), have been reported to show multiple biological activities. Nowadays, the major method to obtain GAs is via the artificial cultivation of the mushroom primordium and fruiting body of G. lucidum. However, the life cycle of G. lucidum take times and the content of the GAs is low; also, the extraction procedures of GAs are complicated.Biotransformation is an important technical means for structural modification of natural products and discovery of new active ingredients.In this work, exogenous diterpenoid dihydrotanshinone I was added to liquid cultured Ganoderma sessile, biotransformed to produce GAs, and sequencing and analysis of G. sessile mycelium by transcriptome.
