Transcriptome analysis of eastern and western seed sources of Pinus taeda. Pinus taeda

Pinus taeda is native to, and broadly distributed across, the southeastern region of the U.S. This distribution is discontinuous, with a major separation in the valley of the Mississippi River. The population of Pinus taeda from the region west of the Mississippi River Valley is genetically distinct from the population from the region east of the river, and phenotypically distinct as well. The objective of this study is to collect transcriptome data from trees from the eastern and western seed sources for comparative analysis.
