A very detailed heat flow survey will be made, we hope to determine the causes of heat flow scatter near spreading centers and how these effects will affect the bias of the mean heat flow for a region since it may enable us to use heat flow averages as an age-predictive tool and possibly lead to some insight on thickness of the lithosphere.
