资源简介:
1 image. Albino kangaroo from Australia (a present for President Truman), 27 May 1952. John Hallstrom (Australian Philanthropist -- Head of Sydney Zoo).; Supplementary material reads: "20th Century-Fox. An almost legendary albino kangaroo from Australia spent the day in Los Angeles en route to Washington, D.C. where he will be presented to President Truman at the White House next Friday. John Hallstrom, Australian philanthropist and head of Sydney Zoo, is accompanying the animal during its long trip by air. Albino animals of any species are uncommon and in kangaroos, it is one of nature's rarest occurrences. There are very few white kangaroos in captivity as kangaroos of any type are difficult to capture. The presentation in Washington, D.C. is in celebration of the Golden Jubilee of the Australian Commonwealth and a return tribute from Australia in gratitude for an American film company making a film 'Kangaroo', in the Down-Under continent. The albino kangaroo will be placed in the Washington, D.C. Zoo following the presentation. Arrived Tuesday morning, International Airport, aboard Pan- American Airlines via Honolulu".
