Data for: The Physiology of Giants

This document describes the content of the data and metadata associated with the manuscript “Adaptive metabolic reprogramming conserves energy status in Antarctic giants”. The present repository contains the following: /data o Giants_physiology_Dataset_SD1.xlsx: an Excel file containing (1) the studied species’ phylogeny, the (2) raw metabolomics data, (3) processed metabolomics data, and (3-12) all statistical analysis outcomes. The parameters for the targeted metabolomics quantification are given in (13). Please refer to the first two tabs of the Excel file for detailed information regarding the data contained in the file. o Giants_physiology_Sample_Metadata.csv: metadata file for samples. Please see "Read.me (metadata)" tab in “Giants_physiology_Dataset_SD1.xlsx” for details on the content. o Giants_physiology_Metabolites_NEG.xlsx and Giants_physiology_Metabolites_POS.xlsx are the Excel files containing the raw data of metabolite concentrations, respectively from the negative and positive ion modes, as provided by Les Laboratoires IsoBioKem Inc. Each tab contains a unique metabolite. Please see "Read.me (metadata)" tab in “Giants_physiology_Dataset_SD1.xlsx” for details on the content. o Giants_physiology_MetImp_output_MNAR_QRILC_70.csv: a csv file containing the output of missing value imputation by MetImp using the MNAR algorithm with a QRILC argument and 70 % data filtering threshold (i.e., metabolites with >30 % missing data are removed) Giants_physiology_Rcode.qmd: the R code that was used to analyse the metabolomic data. Giants_physiology_MetaboAnalyst.rmd: the R code for the KEGG pathway enrichment performed using the MetaboAnalystR R package. Giants_physiology_power.html/.Rmd: the R code for the a posteriori power analysis. Giants_physiology_visNetstyle.R: a custom R function to modify the appearance of the network created by the FELLA R package, using the interactive tool visNetwork.
