High temperatures during the flowering stage can significantly impact maize yield, making heat tolerance a critical trait for crop improvement. To better understand the molecular mechanisms underlying heat tolerance in maize, we conducted a comprehensive time-course transcriptomic study using two maize varieties, XY335 and ZD309. These varieties are known to exhibit differential heat tolerance, with XY335 being more susceptible to high temperatures and ZD309 showing greater resilience.
