THE PROBLEM OF THE LINGUISTIC PICTURE OF THE WORLD IN MODERN LINGUISTIC ON THE EXAMPLE OF ADJECTIVES OF COLOR IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK LANGUAGES

This article explores the problem of the linguistic picture of the world in modern linguistics through a comparative analysis of color adjectives in the English and Uzbek languages. The study is based on the idea that language reflects how speakers perceive, conceptualize, and categorize reality, with color terms serving as a vivid example of this process. By examining semantic, cultural, and cognitive aspects of color adjectives, the research reveals both universal and language-specific features in the linguistic representation of color. Particular attention is paid to the connotative meanings, metaphorical uses, and cultural symbolism of color adjectives in English and Uzbek. The comparative analysis demonstrates that while some color concepts are shared across cultures, others are shaped by national traditions, historical experience, and worldview. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the linguistic picture of the world and highlight the role of color adjectives in expressing cultural identity and cognitive patterns in different languages.
