Differential Expression of microRNAs in Oral Squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) [Frozen tissue samples]. Homo sapiens

Our objective was to analyze with microarray the differential expression of microRNAs in oral squamous cell carcinoma compared with healthy control tissue. We have obtained a total of 97 genes desregulated, 36 overexpressed and 61 under expressed, where 81 were microRNAs. Overall design: We have used eight samples from patients diagnosed with oral cancer and eight samples from healthy patients. Total RNA was extracted with miRVana Isolation kit, then we have used Affymetrix® FlashTagTM Biotin HSR RNA Labeling Kit to label the samples, and the plate used in the microarray was Affymetrix®miRNA 4.1 Array Plate. We have followed the manufacturers instructions in all the protocols, except in the miRVana Isolation kit in the first part, where we have disgregated successfully the frozen tissue sample using a diamond drill and a handpiece without liquid nitrogen
