In this study we explored diversity of V3 region of 16S rRNA genes obtained via barcoded 454 pyrosequencing (of 106 fecal samples collected from mice at the 4th, 12th and 24th weeks of the trial) to demonstrate the changes of gut microbiota and its possible role on metabolic syndrome during accelerated postnatal growth in both normal-birth weight and low-birth weight mice.
