CLINICAL FEATURES AND OUTCOMES OF TUBERCULOSIS IN A HOUSEHOLD CLUSTER WITH CONCOMITANT SOCIALLY SIGNIFICANT DISEASES

Materials and Methods. A retrospective analysis of a familial tuberculosis cluster involving four individuals was conducted. Comorbid factors included HIV infection, opioid dependence, and chronic hepatitis C among the younger family members: a daughter (29 years old) and a son (31 years old). Household surveillance included radiological examinations (chest radiography and computed tomography), detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) by smear microscopy and culture, drug susceptibility testing (DST), and long-term assessment of clinical outcomes.
