NoiseCompressor : A novel approach for distinguishing noise and information in forest MLS-point clouds

This dataset contains 30 referential stems segmented from leafless deciduous forest point clouds. Data was acquired in eastern Quebec by mobile laser scanning (Velodyne VLP-16 Puck), which was mounted on a personal back pack. These stems represent a range of DBH (diameter at breast height) classes, and were used to assess the performance of denoising methods against ground-truth validation.This dataset also contains one (1) information file required for the noise compression program.The "stem_information.xlsx" file contains further information on each individual stem file, including field-measured DBH (in meter).
