Measured vs modelled CO2 for industrial facilities: a multi-source matched dataset (EUTL + EPA GHGRP vs Climate TRACE)

This dataset matches measured facility-level CO₂ emissions — verified EU ETS emissions from the EU Transaction Log (EUTL, RY2023) and US EPA GHGRP (RY2023) — against modelled asset-level estimates from Climate TRACE, for industrial point sources (cement, steel, refineries, chemicals, glass, paper, food & beverage). Each record gives measured and modelled annual CO₂, their % difference, and match quality. Key finding: across 711 confidently matched large point sources, Climate TRACE is close to measured on the median (median difference −1%, median absolute 14%, 64% within ±25%) — approximately unbiased in aggregate but ~14% typical per-facility spread. Coverage EU+US only.
