NOAA Alaska Fisheries Science Center bottom trawl data; Western Gulf of Alaska (1984-2013)

The Resource Assessment and Conservation Engineering Division (RACE) of the Alaska Fisheries Science Center (AFSC) conducts bottom trawl surveys to monitor the condition of the demersal fish and crab stocks of Alaska. These data include catch per unit effort for each identified species at a standard set of stations. This is the Gulf of Alaska subset of the main racebase dataset originally accessed through the NOAA website: http://www.afsc.noaa.gov/RACE/groundfish/survey_data/data.htm.

These data were developed to describe the temporal distribution and abundance of commercially and ecologically important groundfish species, examine the changes in the species composition of species over time and space, and describe the physical environment of the groundfish habitat.
