Grid-level data for chital group size, density, and predator density in Kanha National Park, India
收藏资源简介:
This dataset supports the study "Chital Group Size: More About Food, Less About Fear in Predator-Dominated Tropical Forests" (Awasthi et al., in press, Ecological Applications). It contains grid-level data used to examine the relationships between chital (Axis axis) group size, chital density, and predator (tiger and leopard) density across three habitat types in Kanha National Park, central India. Data are aggregated to 25 km² grid cells and include habitat-specific chital group size and density estimates, tiger and leopard densities derived from spatially explicit capture-recapture models, and derived variables used in the residual regression analysis. Sensitive GPS location data for tigers, leopards, and chital, and camera trap coordinates, have been removed in compliance with the Indian Wildlife Protection Act. The variables provided are sufficient to reproduce all statistical analyses, figures, and results presented in the study.
