This project provides a multi-omics dataset derived from a simulated acid mine drainage (AMD) system subjected to MMC-induced perturbation. A laboratory-scale microcosm was constructed using chalcopyrite (CuFeS2) and native microbial consortia to mimic AMD conditions. On day 24 of the experiment, proviral induction was triggered using mitomycin C (MMC). Microbial 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing and metagenomic sequencing (both microbial and viral) were performed on samples collected at days 24, 27, and 33 from both MMC-treated and control groups. The dataset enables investigation of microbial and viral community dynamics, as well as their functional shifts in response to provirus induction under AMD conditions.
