Mycobacterium simiae: A potential pathogen isolated from normal human oral cavity

Mycobacterium simiae is a ubiquitous organism found in environmental sources including soil & water. It has also been reported to be a potential pathogen and can lead to pulmonary, skeletal and genitourinary infections. The current project shares information of an M. simiae isolate obtained from the oral cavity of a normal human host. The data may help in future phylogenetic studies and in understanding this potential pathogen.
