whole genome sequencing of Chinese sucker(Myxocyprinus asiaticus)

The study aims to provide an insight to the genome evolution of Catostomidae fish. The Chinese sucker, Myxocyprinus asiaticus (Catostomidae, Cypriniformes), is the only representative species of Catostomidae in Asian continent. There are more than 75 species of this family living in North America. The fossil record dates back to the early Eocene for this ancient group. Due to its transcontinental distribution pattern, this population is of great significance to biogeographic research, especially the species migration events in Bering Strait.
