This metadata entry refers to measurements of oceanic organosulfur compounds, made by Angela Hatton, Geoff Smith and Mike Zubkov; oceanic halocarbons by Geoff Smith; and oceanic ammonium made by Malcom Woodward during the DI241 research cruise in the North sea as part of DISCO project. The cruise began on 5th June 1999 and ended on 1st of July 1999 with a spatial coverage of +61N to +51N latitude and +4E to -2E longitude.
The data consists of:
-131 measurements of concentrations of dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) per unit volume of water column by enzyme digestion, purging, cryogenic trapping and gas chromatography
-396 measurements of concentrations of dimethylsulfoniopropionate (DMSP) per unit volume of water column (dissolved plus reactive particulate < GF/F phase) by filtration and gas chromatography
-335 measurements of concentrations of dimethylsulfoniopropionate (DMSP) per unit volume of water column (dissolved plus reactive particulate phase) by gas chromatography
-446 measurements of concentrations of dimethylsulfide (DMS) per unit volume of water column (dissolved plus reactive particulate < GF/F phase) by filtration, purging, cryogenic trapping and gas chromatography
-60 measurements of concentration of bromomethane per unit volume of the water column (dissolved plus reactive particulate phase) by purging, cryogenic trapping and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.
-60 measurements of concentration of chloroiodomethane per unit volume of the water column (dissolved plus reactive particulate phase) by purging, cryogenic trapping and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.
-54 measurements of concentration of dibromochloromethane per unit volume of the water column (dissolved plus reactive particulate phase) by purging, cryogenic trapping and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.
