Alterations in swine intestinal microbiota associated with PEDV infection

To clarify the changes of intestinal microbiota mediated by PEDV infection in piglets, cecum and colon content samples were taken from 6 piglets at 1-3 days of age before weaning, including 3 piglets infected with PEDV and 3 healthy piglets. All 6 fresh cecal and colonic content samples were immediately frozen in liquid nitrogen following collection and stored at -80°C until extraction of genomic microbial DNA. All samples were bacterial 16S rRNA sequencing.
