The two sampling points were indicated in Fig. 1A, which were J7(30°33′50.4″N, 114°18′36.0″E) and J8 (30°27′1.8″N 114°15′7.4″E) for Inner sand Lake and Sand Lake , respectively. Surface water was collected at 0–2 p.m. on December 22, 2017,the day that we called Winter Solstice Day. And we can take samples when the lakes were at normal water levels, since it was sunny day all in a week before sampling day. The temperatures of water of J7 and J8 when sampling were 14°C and 15°C, respectively. The collected water samples were analyzed and tested for its general properties in 4 h.
