Setdb1, a histone methyltransferase that trimethylates histone H3 on lysine 9, promotes tumorigenesis in various cancers. However, the functional role of Setdb1 in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma formation is still unknown. To reveal the role of Setdb1 in murine pancreata, we have employed whole genome microarray expression profiling of Ptf1aCre; KrasLSL-G12D; Setdb1flox/flox pancreata. We found that apoptotic signaling pathway is upregulated in Setdb1-deficient pancreata. We used the isolated acinar cells of Ptf1aCre; KrasLSL-G12D; Setdb1flox/flox pancreata as samples and compared to those of Ptf1aCre; KrasLSL-G12D pancreata.
