Multi-platform sequencing of Serratia marcescens in Norway 2021-2023. Sequencing of Serratia marcescens in Norway for genome epidemiology

As part of an outbreak investigation focused on cgMLST complex type 755, all available S. marcescens isolates available at all Norwegian clinical microbiological laboratories were whole genome sequenced in the period spanning January 1st 2021 - February 28th 2023. The outbreak was recognized on November 3rd 2022. Clinical isolates predating from before November were retrospectively sequenced and thus mainly represent blood cultures which are the only isolates routinely collected and stored. Clinical isolates collected after the recognition of the outbreak were from any source.
