COMPLICATIONS OF CHRONIC PROSTATITIS

Chronic prostatitis is a prevalent urological condition that significantly affects men’s quality of life due to persistent pain, urinary disturbances, and sexual dysfunction. This article reviews the complications associated with chronic prostatitis, including recurrent urinary tract infections, prostate abscesses, obstructive uropathy, chronic pelvic pain, and infertility. Understanding the etiology, pathophysiology, and clinical manifestations of these complications is essential for early diagnosis, effective treatment, and prevention. Comprehensive management strategies combining pharmacological therapy, lifestyle modifications, and surgical interventions when necessary can improve patient outcomes and reduce long-term morbidity. This review highlights the importance of timely recognition and multidisciplinary approaches in the management of chronic prostatitis complications.
