This study examines feminine hygiene product advertisements in teen magazines and how they reflect and shape gender discourses in society. It involves a content analysis of 141 feminine hygiene product advertisements in Seventeen Magazine from the 1960s to 2010. Codes were developed for the examination of the framing of women in the advertisements, the etiquette surrounding the process, and female liberation.
