This dataset consists of sea ice concentration (SIC), sea ice thickness (SIT), and sea ice volume (SIV) data over the Arctic Ocean, obtained from satellite-derived sea ice data assimilation experiments with different localization radius.
The sea ice model and data assimilation system used for this dataset were Los Alamos Sea Ice Model version 5.1.2 (CICE5) and Data Assimilation Research Testbed (DART), respectively.
The CICE5/DART experiments were conducted: (1) 'noDA' - experiment without data assimilation, (2) 'SICDA' - experiment with satellite-derived SIC assimilation, (3) 'SITDA' - experiment with satellite-derived SIT assimilation, (4) 'SICSITDA' - experiment with both satellite-derived SIC and SIT assimilation.
The localization radius was set at intervals of 0.01 radian (approximately 64 km), ranging from 0.01 to 0.09. For this dataset, the names of those experiments are referred to as LOCOOO, for instance, LOC005 stands for an experiment with a localization radius of 0.05 radian.
The provided dataset consists of NETCDF4 files compressed into a tar.gz archive. To unzip the files, execute the command tar -zxvf ciceDA_ncfiles.tar.gz.
The naming convention for the NETCDF4 files is "ciceDA_{CICE5/DART experiments name}_LOC{localization radius}.nc".
