To compare the performance of two trap designs, nine pairs of standard Townes and ez-Malaise traps were deployed in native grasslands, grouped in three regional clusters over an eight-week period. Samples were metabarcoded with standard COI protocol. This dataset contains the standard Townes trap data while the ez-types can be found in PRJNA1435035
