资源简介:
The genus Cercis contains just 12 species and belongs to one of the earliest-branching clades of the Fabaceae. Cercis canadensis(C. Canadensis) is native to eastern North American, but is commonly used as an ornamental tree outside its native range, with many horticultural varieties now available. Cercis canadensis (and other members of Cercis) produce flowers on their trunks (cauliflory); these flowers are sometimes eaten fresh or pickled. DNA was collected from leaves of 2-month-old plants grown in a growth chamber. We sequenced the genome to a depth of approximately 1113X.
The assembled scaffolds of high quality sequences total 330MB, with the contig and scaffold N50 values of 12kb and 421kb respectively. We identified 34,023 protein-coding genes with a mean length of 1.246kb.
