Ruegeria pomeroyi strain DSS-3. Formerly Silicibacter pomeroyi, his marine bacterium is a member of the Roseobacter clade and was isolated off of the coast of Georgia in 1998. DSS-3 is the type strain for this species. Analysis will provide insight into sulfur cycling by microbes in marine environments.
