Number of investment deals in fintech in EMEA 2017-2023

There were a total number of 2,373 venture capital, private equity and M&A deals in fintech in Europe, the Middle East and Africa in 2022, which was slightly lower than in 2021, but remained well above the deal count in 2020. The downward trend continued in 2023, with 1,514 registered deals. The largest European fintech deal in 2023 had a deal value of 6.9 billion U.S. dollars.
