This study aimed to investigate the use of a mobile application in Thai students’ vocabulary learning and to identify their attitudes and perceptions toward vocabulary learning with a smartphone application. The participants were sixty-two grade nine students in a government school in Thailand. The participants were assigned to one of two groups: experimental or control groups. Both groups learned vocabulary in their classrooms with a traditional teaching style, but the experimental group additionally learned vocabulary using a mobile application. The information was gathered from a pre-test score, a post-test score, and a questionnaire. The experimental group’s results revealed that using the mobile application in vocabulary learning learned the vocabulary better than the control group. In terms of the questionnaires, the participants had high positive attitudes toward the mobile application, and the open-ended question proved that their satisfaction toward the application was good. It is recommended that the mobile application should be used for vocabulary learning.
