Rectangular-shaped early Christian sandstone ringed cross-slab re-used as the base of a 15th century wall cupboard located immediately east of the southern doorway to the chapter house at the eastern end of the southern wall of the Augustinian priory (TN004-010006-) in Lorrha, Co. Tipperary. The upper surface of the sandstone slab is decorated with a ringed-cross with hollowed angles carved in false relief with panels of ribbon-interlace on either side of the cross shaft all opf which is contained within an incised framed outline running around the edge of the slab. Lorrha monastery was founded by St. Ruadhán who died in 584 and was referred to as the 'lamp of Lothra', his feastday was held on the 15th of April when the 'cuckoo began to call'.
