Enlighten: Research Data

Enlighten: Research Data is the institutional repository for the University of Glasgow, designed to provide a long-term, stable environment for the deposit, discovery, and curation of research data outputs produced by its academic community. The repository supports the University’s commitment to Open Science and compliance with major funder mandates by ensuring that research data is preserved and made available for reuse where possible. Built on the EPrints platform and integrated with the DataCite infrastructure, Enlighten: Research Data assigns Persistent Identifiers (DOIs) to all datasets to facilitate citation and tracking of impact. The repository is multidisciplinary, hosting a wide range of data types across the life sciences, physical sciences, social sciences, and humanities. It emphasises the creation of high-quality metadata records, allowing for "metadata-only" entries in cases where data are deposited in external repositories or where data must remain restricted due to commercial, ethical, or legal constraints.
