Bottom_orbital_velocity_Foros_Bay_Bulgaria

A geopackage (*.gpkg) data set (Coordinate Reference System: EPSG:4326 - WGS 84), containing values of bottom orbital velocities at 210 points, located within the Foros Bay, the Black Sea, Bulgaria. Values are calculated assuming monochromatic wave propagation from deep-water to shallow-water conditions in the bay. Wave propagation is modeled with the SMC 2.5 modeling software, developed by the Ocean and Coastal Research Group from the University of Cantabria and the Directorate General to the Coast, Environmental Ministry of Spain; for this purpose, the MOPLA application and the OLUCA model were used in advance. Bottom orbital velocities are calculated according to Soulsby, using the Hunt's method (Soulsby (2006): https://eprints.hrwallingford.com/588/) Column name meaning is as follows: Lat: latitude in decimal degrees Long: longitude in decimal degrees U: bottom orbital velocity in m/s 90, 80, 70, 60, 50, 40, 30: the azimuth degrees from where the wave has approached the bay 036, 039, 030, 019, 041: the mean wave height in cm, within deep-water conditions
