资源简介:

This repository contains the netCDF4 datasets of the thermal and rheological model for the western US and East Asia, and a Python-based thermal model function for "Lee et al., Building a thermal model of the continental lithosphere: Implications for solid Earth processes and beyond" that is in review. ThermalModel_WUS.nc includes the thermal model for the western US and all the temperature proxies used to constrain the thermal model, including surface heat flow (Mordensky et al., 2023), seismogenic thickness derived from EQ_catalog_WUS.csv, seismogenic thickness uncertainty, crustal thickness (Buehler and Shearer, 2017), and Moho temperature datasets (Schutt et al., 2018). It also contains thermal and rheological modeling results, such as temperature volumes with and without static horizontal diffusion, and a wet quartzite viscosity volume constructed with the diffused temperature volume. Lastly, it also includes the modeled heat flow condition (i.e., crustal, mantle, and surface heat flow), temperature at 20 km depth, crustal-scale geothermal gradient, and maximum geothermal gradient below 250 °C. ThermalModel_EastAsia.nc includes the thermal model for East Asia and all the temperature proxies used to constrain the thermal structure, including surface heat flow (Wu et al., 2013; Sun et al., 2022), Curie depth (Li et al., 2017), and lithospheric thickness (An and Shi, 2006). It contains the same type of results as the ThermalModel_WUS.nc. EQ_catalog_WUS.csv contains the merged earthquake catalog in California and Nevada, USA. This catalog is merged from datasets from northern (Waldhauser and Schaff, 2008; Waldhauser, 2009) and southern California (Hauksson et al., 2012), and Nevada (Trugman, 2023, 2024). The hypocenter datum is normalized to surface elevation. ThermalModelFunction.zip contains the Python function 'ContinentalThermalModel.py', configuration text file 'ContinentalThermalModel_config.txt', and model documentation and instruction Jupyter source file 'ThermalModel_Documentation.ipynb'. Dependent Python functions are also included in this folder, such as 'D95.py', 'Get_time.py', 'make_output_config.py', 'Model_extent.py', 'Parse_config.py', 'Read_config.py', 'resample_tif.py', and 'Run_ThermalModel.py'. Input temperature proxies for the western US and East Asia preferred model are also located in the folder 'Temperature_proxies_WUS' and 'Temperature_proxies_East_Asia', including earthquake catalog 'EQ_catalog_WUS.csv', surface heat flow (Mordensky et al., 2023) 'heat_flow.tif', crustal thickness (Buehler and Shearer, 2017) 'Moho_depth.tif', and Moho temperature 'Moho_T.tif' and its uncertainty 'Moho_T_Uncer.tif' datasets (Schutt et al., 2018), surface heat flow (Asia_heatflow.tif; Wu et al., 2013; Sun et al., 2022), Curie depth (Curie_Li_et_al_2017.tif; Li et al., 2017), and lithospheric thickness (LAB_An_Shi_2006.tif; An and Shi 2006).
