We generated a cross in Humulus lupulus for transcriptome sequencing and used SED-DETector, a probabilistic mathod that estimates the probability for a gene of being sex-linked with allele segregation analysis whithin a cross, to study the sex chromosomes in this species. SEX-DETector identified 265 sex-linked genes in H. lupulus, among which 112 are also sex-linked in Cannabis sativa. The sex chromosomes are thus homologous between the two species.
