资源简介:
Large laboratory columns (15.2 cm diameter, 183 cm long) filled with the TCE contaminated Hill AFB site. Columns were fed with ground water containing trichloroethylene (TCE), were biostimulated and bioaugmented, and were monitored for over 7.5 years. These columns were treated with the whey, Newman Zone® standard surfactant emulsified oil and Newman Zone® nonionic surfactant emulsified oil and bioaugmented with the Bachman Road culture. Complete dechlorination was only observed in the whey treated columns, occurring 1 year after bioaugmentation with a culture known to dechlorinate TCE, yet the non bioaugmented column also reached full dechlorination 3 years later. cis-DCE and vinyl chloride were the only products observed with addition of the emulsified oils with or without bioagumentation. Microbial community was characterized in the top 0-4 inches was characterized by the 454 sequencing.
